German crude oil and natural gas producer Wintershall stopped its activity in Iran over the recently-implemented US sanctions against Iranian energy industry, a Wintershall top manager told reporters on Tuesday.
Following recently-implemented US sanctions against Iranian energy industry, German crude oil and natural gas giant Wintershall halted its activity in Iran. At the Abu Dhabi International Exhibition and Conference on Tuesday, a high ranking executive at Wintershall told reporters: “We are forced to stop our work in Iran because of sanctions introduced by the United States,” he said at a press briefing held within.
On November 5, the United States reinstated sanctions against Iran’s oil exports, although it granted waivers to eight importers. The return of sanctions followed the US decision to withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal.
